State News: West Virginia Form WV 140 Returns Are Rejecting for "stateSchemaVersion" attribute is invalid

We are aware of a situation where Form WV 140 is being rejected with the message below. Our e-File team is working closely with the West Virginia Department of Revenue on a resolution. Please hold these returns until further notice. We will update this post when the returns can be e-filed. 

The 'stateSchemaVersion' attribute is invalid. The value' WVIndividual2024v2.3' is invalid according to its datatype "String'. The Enumeration constraint failed.

State News: Kentucky Temporary Operations Halt (Feb 26 - Mar 14)

 Please read this important message from the Kentucky Department of Revenue

As a courtesy reminder, some operations will be temporarily halted from February 25th to March 14th as the KYDOR transitions to a new system. IIT and ESTRST submissions will continue to be processed, and acknowledgements will be sent to the IRS through MeF during this period; however, business submissions will not be picked up from the IRS until March 14th. Please also note that refunds and payments for IIT, ESTRST and CORP will not resume until the cutover process has been completed. State News: Montana Reject Code Form2-A05000

We have received an important message from the Montana Department of Revenue. Please read it below. 

The Montana Department of Revenue is aware of an issue with the Individual Income tax reject code Form2-A05000. The reject code was triggering when there was a negative source income and a ratio of 0.000000. We have a resolution for these rejections set for release to production the night of February 11, 2025.

Please hold any returns that include this scenario and/or resubmit any returns with this reject code after 9 AM EST/ 7 AM MST on February 12, 2025.

Client Accounting Suite/Premier (CAS/P) version 24.2 is available

The 24.2 version of CAS/P is now available from the Solution Center or via the auto-update feature in CAS/P. It includes the following regulatory updates.

*Remember to close CAS/P on all workstations prior to applying the update.

Regulatory Updates

The following regulatory information is now available for Client Accounting Suite and Client Accounting Suite Premier:

  • 2024 Federal Forms update
    • 2024 943 Paid Preparer Information will now auto-populate with available information.
    •  2024 W4 is available in Blank Forms940, 93, and 944
  • 2025 State Withholding Rates - The following state withholding calculations have been updated for 2025:
    • Arkansas
    • Hawai'i
    • Indiana
    • Minnesota
    • Mississippi
    • Montana
    • North Carolina
    • North Dakota
    • Oregon
    • Vermont
      • Note:  As other states change their rates for 204, we will provide updates on the support website.

Software Updates

  • The 2024 Tax Exports for ATX and TaxWise are available in this update. Tax Line assignments have been updated for 2024.
  • The 2024 Tax Exports for ProSystem fx, Axcess, Lacerte Tax and ProSeries Business Tax have been enabled. 
  • Client Write-Up has been updated to work with Sage 2025 versions.
  • Note: Due to Intuit not releasing a 2025 QuickBooks desktop version, only the QuickBooks CSV import is available and enabled.

IRS News: Known Issue on Form 940 Submissions

Business rules SA-F940-0067-07, F940-016-07 and F940-015-07 are not working correctly. When multi-states and credit reduction states are both selected on Form 940 Schedule A the returns are rejecting. We are working to correct the issue and will let you know when you are allowed to re-submit your clients Multi-State Form 940.

The IRS has not provided a workaround for this issue. Please hold these returns until the IRS resolves the issue.

Payroll Compliance Reporting PCR) Version 24.1 Is Now Available

 In this release, the W-2 and 1099 mappings are updated to support the QuickBooks, Sage and Client Accounting Suite imports for 2024.

Installation Instructions:

The following installation types require the 24.1 update:

  • Stand-Alone
  • Workstation Only
  • Workstation/Server

Server Only installations do not require the 24.1 update.

  • As a best practice, it is recommended that you close the application on all workstations and update each one separately.
